BallroomDancers.com is proud to announce the introduction of full instruction videos in our Learning Center!

Starting in July, we will introduce the first in a series of videos with complete instruction, including demonstrations to narrated counts, man and lady teaching individual parts, technical tips, and demonstrations to music. We will begin with figures in the beginning bronze syllabus and work our way up through full bronze and beyond over the course of the next year.

Sample videos can be viewed here:
https://ballroomdancers.com/dances/video_samples.asp

Please take a look and let us know what you think. We hope you're as excited about it as we are!

Regards,
Jonathan & Melissa Atkinson

Bravo! Nice job, very clear. There is one thing I notice though; you don't mention or put in your written descriptions the footwork: toe, toe heel, inside edge of foot etc. For my part I think this would help, particularly in the smooth dances ....

We included footwork in the ballroom videos, but not the Latin (except where the footwork is unusual and warrants special mention).

Most of the overarching techniques will be taught on separate technique videos, in the interest of reducing redundancy. For example, if 90% of Waltz figures use one of 3 types of rise & fall, then we'll have one video that teaches those 3 types in detail, and then simply refer to them when teaching figures. Only the 10% will include more detailed descriptions of that technique.

Latin footwork is very much the same. It would be redundant to say on each video, "...and the footwork is ball-falt, ball-flat, ball-flat...", etc, so we thought we'd rather shoot one video where we go into detail about usage of the feet, leaving footwork details on the syllabus figures for the rare occasion when the footwork is not ball-flat.

Thanks for checking them out and taking the time to give us your feedback!

Regards,
Jonathan

I watched the Cha Cha cross-body lead sample, excellent video! I had just worked on Cha Cha cross-body lead with my instructor, your video was spot on!

Very clear instruction. These will be excellent reference and/or instructional videos. Thank you for putting these together - much appreciated!

Great job! Look forward to the future videos. I've been taking private lesson for a year and have been searching for some good video training aids. Again...great job!

Just added your site to my ipad. This is great... now I can use your site when I practice at the studio. Wonderful addition. I did not see any latin gold syllabus steps though... will they be coming soon?

Yep... Just filmed them last weekend. It was a grueling film shoot -- Some mornings as early as 7am and some nights as late as 2am -- and as a result, I fell ill. I'm still fighting it off now, but when I feel better, I'll start to work on the editing. Gold Latin demo clips will be first, followed by all the bronze instructional videos from the last two film shoots.

If you'd like to see some pictures from our latest film shoot, check out our Facebook page:
