This studio with all these changes...as far as I can see it and always have...you all talk about what you don't like...you never ever go to the source of the situation...you expect someone else to do your dirty work...well it never worked and you are now the problem....so speak up for yourself and don't be afraid...because this is a great studio and offers you alot and can offer you more but only if you speak up!!! Stop acting like a child!!!

what the heck is a TC club? Actually whatever that is...this studio is NOT. It is a regular studio that does small packages and one or two local comps a year. No heavy hitting high enrollments, no Hobby Clubs, no outrageous prices, just privates groups and a few parties. What is to learn...that a few people are having a hard time adjusting to some new teachers??

maybe the one who said they get to learn silver now was never taught silver becasue they are not able to handle it. Maybe they are being sold a bunch of crap from a francise that is eager to pick up and sweet talk someone who is feeling left out in a studio that is growing.

It seems as if one studio is creating such a ruckus. Maybe you guys should see what you really want and ask for it. I know all the studio owners in CT and if this is the studio I am thinking of then you are in good hands. It seems as if you don't realize how good you've got it. Maybe higher prices and less service will put you back on track. Go to a francise and thats what you will get. No one is perfect and we all think the grass is greener on the other side. Take it from someone who has been to all the studios in CT, stay where you are and it will all be OK. If you leave you will not help the situation you will make it worse. Please email me and I will discuss this with you further.ENTAYAYUNI@aol.com
Just Asking

When I posted my initial question, I was just exploring different options in the area. It did not mean that I was leaving the studio or even that I am wholly dissatisfied with it.

As I stated before, I have enjoyed my time at the studio. Further, I think that the studio owner is extremely reasonable. I do hope that the studio grows and I wish it all the best. However, some of the recent changes haven't been the best. This does not mean that these changes cannot develop into positive changes.

I appreciate those who gave thoughtful and considerate responses.
Let's talk

All this talk about this studio makes me wonder, have you talked to the owner or manager yet. As far as leaving, it sounds like you like it there with the exception of these new teachers. My advise to you is to talk to the powers that be and work it out. Good studios are hard to find and unless you want to spend alot of money at a franchise, you should try to talk to the owner. If this is the studio I am thinking of then I am sure the situation will be handled to your satisfaction. Most studio owners value all of there students and will do whatever it takes to make them happy. I hope it works out.
Calm down

I think you should all calm down. If this is the studio I am thinking of, it is NOT a TC dance club. as far as the studio goes, it is truly one of the best studios in CT. The instructors are certified and friendly. They are willing to go out of thier way to accomadate all the students at the studio. The owner is aware of the situation and is in the process of rectifing it.
Change is always hard. Sometimes people need to think in a possitive manor in order to get better results. As far as going to another studio, Let's Dance in Rhythm in Branford would be my suggestion. All studios go through a change at some time or another, the key is to embrace the change and grow with it. Yes the studio I am thinking of is growing yet again. Hang in there and be a part of it. Grow with them and reep the benifits.

you know...I think we are all from the same studio. I am really disappointed with the new teachers. I hardley want to go back. I have been wanting to move up or take "coachings" with the two pros that come during the week, but have always been told I couldn't work with them. Now I am being put on the new teachers schedule. I am finshing my paid lessons and then moving on too. Any ideas where to go?

I think we may have gone to the same studio. I am dancing at a wonderful studio in Norwalk now. I am already learning silve steps after almost 5 years of dancing bronze. It definitly was time to move on. I would love to chat with you more about this. You can e-mail me at TBKA67@aol.com. Hope to hear from you soon.

Sounds like a TC club. If it is, run don't walk to the nearest exit. It is not a dance studio it is a CLUB. When will people learn.
CT Studios.

Dancing Queen;

If you are considering competitions and are willing to work hard, take advantage of Professional Coaches that are available in the New Haven area frequently, then e-mail me at CTMiche@aol.com and I will be happy to put you in touch with a teacher who has a 5 year international competition background and close to 25 years teaching experience.

Connecticut has many studios some good and some not so great, anyone attacking either independent studios or the franchised studios has more mouth and facts. Many studios offer introductory specials and by trying a few studios you just may find the one that will bring out the dancer you're striving to achieve.
