partner skills - Ballroom and Latin

Hi this is me for the second time tonight. I have read the schedule for the Mastery dance camp and see that there are specific classes for partner skills. As mentioned I am approaching silver medal standard and am discovering alot of things including the leverage between partner's hand holds and leads (latin) and body (ballroom). Does anyone have any advice about this aspect of dance or can you refer me to a previous discussion/link/etc so that I can learn more? Your help is appreciated, Sandra

Sandra . It took me a while before I understood that once I have given either the push or pull to my partner she should know what to do. Once I have indicated I can ease off with the grip. There is no need to wrestle. Take opening a door for instance. I don't then push the lady through. All I should do is show here the way. Dancing with a beginner is a bit different. Also try this in the Rumba or Cha. Assume the normal stance, slightly lean towards each other and then dance a few basics. Do you feel that there is more togetherness between you. This is good for training.
