I'm guessing you are both pretty young, so I'm going to say it's not a big deal. If you were both done growing, or if he was done growing and you weren't, then it would be an issue.

Not a big problem for latin, but for standard if the girl is taller (or even the same height before shoes) you will probably have trouble learning the correct technique for moving together. You might do okay for a while in a very open hold, but closed hold will not work correctly.

There are couples who have made World Finals where the lady was a few inches taller than the man. It is no problem for the lady to come down in height and still be able to dance well. Good luck.
