Hello everyone! I am new and just thought that I would introduce myself.
My name is Rebecca, I am 19 years old and have just started ballroom and latin american dance classes in Norwich, Norfolk (UK).
My life ambition is to become a professional dancer (I have a long way to go!)I practise all the time.
I am doing really well at the latin american dances, but find the ballroom really difficult (especially the waltz), but I have been practising it at home and now I think I can finally do it (only the basic steps). Sorry to go on, but no one I know likes ballroom dancing at all!

I too am a NEWBIE. I LOVE Ballroom dancing...the rythms of the Latin dances are fantastic...I haven't practiced at home because I'm afraid I'll do it wrong & get into bad habits. I don't have anyone to chat with about dancing, either...my fiance is a football fanatic...not interested in ballroom dance at all....I'm doing it because I've always wanted to dance and decided I wasn't waiting for someone to knock on my door and say lets go take lessons...so I'm on my own with this and loving every minute of it!!! I've met the nicest people at the studio...very patient...!!!! It's so much fun!!! I really look forward to DANCE NIGHT!!!!

Well, ladies, I'll join the club. I'm new, too, but I'm fortunate that my fiancé is totally receptive to learning, too. (Eat your hearts out, other women. I have been to one showcase and a "Jack & Jill" competition, then the following day I took 3 classes from the judge, Gert Roslender. He is a world champion and an absolute DREAM to dance with. I'm still swooning. LOL I have worn out this web site, bought music and shoes off eBay, do practice all around the house and even when I go for walks. I can't get enough of it and can't wait for my April classes to start (tango, waltz and foxtrot). I just wish I could learn them ALL simultaneously! LOL It's nice to meet you. Tell me more about your classes and what you're learning.

Greetings, I wish to add my 2 cents worth. My wife and I have been dancing for about 6 years now. All I can say is "stick with it". I was in your shoes before and I remember this when I get a "newbie" to dance with. You never get tired of practicing your basic steps. My biggest recommendation is "GO TO DANCES". You will learn more than you think. Just let your partner know that you are just learning.
Terminatric, Waltz is my favorite dance. All the ladies at the dance studio love dancing with me because I have a GREAT lead. (Not braging to much I hope) LOL.
Well I hope everyone continues to have a great dance year.
MIKE
