How to dance with the music rhythm?

We can feel the music and enjoy the dance steps matching the melody. I can't imagine song without tempo. So, I thought dance with rhythm spells that I must step on right beat and sink myself into the melody. I used to imagine the dance step is an ensamble with my body to the melody.
In tango, the timing is Slow/ quick/ and. Is there a role when we start to dance ?(Sory, I am not able to express what I want to know . Please let me share your experience .)
Thanks.

Yichen 1. I think you have the right idea and that is to feel the music. If you can get a DVD of the 2003 World Super Stars Dance Festival from Japan.Watch Paul Kilick and Hanna Karttunen's Rumba. As Colm Wilkinson sings. "Till you came into my life. In your eyes I could lose myself forever. In your eyes there is excitment there is wonder". Watch the acting and connection between them and has the words are sung the dancers are'not looking at the floor or the otherway.
