Difference between American and Int'l cha-cha

Hi All,

I was just asked by a non-dancer the difference between American and International cha-cha. I saw her eyes start to glaze over during my explanation, so I knew I wasn't getting through.

Can you think of a simple, one or two sentence answer to that question?

Basically there isn't one of any real importance.

If you are doing beginner competitions, there are different lists of allowed steps.

In theory there is a slight difference in the leg action, but in practice this is often ignored.
