Competition Gown

After 4 years of dancing, I am finally entering my first amateur competition. I have been looking at smooth dress's online and they seem so expensive. I am thinking of trying to make my own gown to start - its a small competition so the dress doesnt have to be over the top. Does anyone know where I can find smooth dress patterns?

Any help is appreciated.

Simplicity makes one, it's very simple for a first-time seamstress. I don't recall the pattern number, though, since I didn't particularly like it very much. It's not bad, it's just not a style I personally like.
