HELP - shoe question

Hello,
I am currently dancing in a production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum."
The thing is that I am actually dancing ballet, but since I am playing a courtesan they want me to wear sexy strappy sandals. I don't know much about ballroom shoes - could anyone tell me what they recommend? My limits are that the shoes need to be open-toed, silver, and I'm looking to get a 2.5 heel. What I'm looking for is the best support - I am doing a few jumps, turns, and a slow split down to the floor (sans hands)... please help! In ballet, you can't really beat Freed pointe shoes - what's the equivalent in the world of ballroom - the ultimate shoe!? Thanks!

It's me again - I like these - they are from Elegance... but I want to make sure it's a good shoe.

Also, can you point your feet in them? (are they flexible in the sole)
Thanks again!

Since I'm a man, I probably dont know anything, but I'll try anyway.

First, women's ballroom shoes usually have 4 inch heels. That's a big departure for you.

Freed makes a lot of very good ballroom shoes, so you might want to look at them.

But why do anything differently than what makes you comfortable? Wear the pointe shoes, get the costumer to design some sandal straps that extend as far up as possible, and then ACT sexy! Noone will be bothered by your shoes.

IMHO

I definitely agree with Jerry on this one, however, if you need to wear a strappy sandal then you might as well find a good one.

As a female latin dancer, I have gone through many latin shoes trying to find the most comfortable one. My personal favorite would be model 1618 by Supadance (it comes with 2 different types of ankle straps.)

If you don't like that particular style, then I don't know another exact model I could point you to. From experience I do believe that Supadance makes the best, most comfortable, latin shoe around. You can find some of them on www.showtimedanceshoes.com.

Hope I helped! And good luck dancing! tangoteen

Hello from Germany,

just have a lock at the homepage of www.supadance.com

Theire you will find silver Sandels. With heel of 2 up to what ever you need.

Ballroom shoes must be flexible. You also can choose the form of the heels.
Wide or small.

I like the "supadance" shoes and I have good experiences with them.

Also the label "International" stands for good quality.

Hope I could help you a bit and sorry for my bad english

Greetings Silke
