Hello, I have a question concerning waltz dress and can't find the answer. Hope to get some help at this forum.
So here is a question: are there any standarts of the waltz dress? I mean how long must it be, what accessories are allowed etc. I looked through many photos of dresses - some of them have boa (or something like that), some dresses have flared skirt, and others have narrow skirts at the top, which is getting wider to the bottom.

I dont know that there is a standard. For international you will see floats, and this is not so true for American.

The rest I think comes down to the style that you like. More importantly however is how the style looks on you. You can just love a style that does not complement your shape, height ect...

You might want to visit a comp that has dress vendors and try on a bunch to see what best suits you.

It may depend on what the dress is for. If it's for a competition, you might want to check if there are any rules about costumes (some comps limit costumes for beginners). I hope you find a beautiful dress!
