Gert,

We don't have a video of the V6 yet, but it's fairly easy to describe. In short, it's a Back Lock, Outside Change, and a Forward Lock. The timing is SQQS SQQ SQQS(S).

Regards,
Jonathan

Jonathan. After dancing the V Six for so many years I never realized that after the Lock it is a Passing Change by name. I think what fooled me was the Slow after the Lock. Thanks anyway.

Jonathan. Sorry that should read Outside Change and not Passing Change. My mistake.

one small note in addition to what jonathan wrote: when following a spin turn, you would omit the first step of the V6 and take the rise into the lock from the same foot that lowers at the 3rd (6th) step of the spin turn - man goes down in the foot TH, then rises NFR from the heel. Lady would dance TH on the spin turn and then T only on the 2nd step of the V6.

Anonymous. Gert was only asking for a description of the V Six . If he had wanted more, such as rise and fall. or right shoulder leading CBM. he probably would have asked. The best of this site is that checking in the book on a question asked we can actually learn something. I never even thought that a V Six could come from 123 of a Natural. With me it was always after a Spin Turn.

Gert wouldn't have asked his question if he had the book. The hopelessness of figuring the figure out without it (or better, a live teacher) is why I didn't touch the question at first.

Then Jonathan gave an answer that was formaly correct, but didn't mention the necessary modification when used in the extremely popular (as far as i've seen, most popular) combination following the spin turn.

Anonymous. Agree. Without a book to look back on its worse than useless.

thanks for all your answers. Figuring the V6 routine out without 'the book'(what book is this???) is indeed hopeless. Therefor I had hoped someone would have known a videoclip available, somewhere.... so I keep on looking...
