Going into a promenade position

There must be different techniques for entering promenade poition. Why? because we can enter from a reverse figure(DRSpin)body turning left,(turning lock ) body turning right. feather finish in foxtrot into hover telemark, body moving forward, Impetus turn, where the man delays the rise untill the lady's swing brings him up. These are all different feelings and motions that produce different results.

Dave. Leaving Promenade Position. John Wood says that if we both take the same size step at the same time in theory we will never get around, into a Running Weave or whatever. Except if the man uses his strong left arm to do so. If somebody is thinking in that case, the lady must delay her step, this results in a shorter step which is what we want anyway.

Anonymous. Unless the step called Outside Changed has been altered. All the steps are in line except the last which is outside partner and is the first step of the Natural. There are including the first three of a Natural seven steps listed. After the Natural the feet pass no closing. Now the outside Passing Change it can't possibly be danced with the lady Outside
We are starting from a closed position, feet together mans left foot ready to move backing diag. to centre into three passing steps. From there in the V Waltz we do 4 5 6 of a Reverse into a 1 2 3 of a Reverse Viennese Waltz
