My ballet teacher told me that I dont have the right kind of pointe to do toe. I know what the proper kind of pointe is and I know that I can work hard and do toe w/out it, but how do I prepare for it???????????????? How do I do toe???? Another thing that pisses me off is that my ballet teacher is putting a girl on pointe next year and she's only been doing ballet for 2 years and I've been doing ballet for 7 years...........its not fair. If anyone has any tips please please tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm not the expert on toe because I had to quit. My problem was more serious than yours - to do toe properly, I would have had to break both my feet and reshape them. I tried to go on anyway, but after a few months, I couldn't take it anymore. All the advice I can offer is that if your feet aren't right for it, it will be painful, so that's what you need to prepare yourself for. And that's not just my own experience telling me that - that comes from every ballet dancer I've known who's feet/point weren't quite right. If you really love it, go for it. But if it gets to the pointwhere you can't take it, let it go - there are other fields of dance that are just as incredible. Oh yeah - never use loose wool.
