looking for a large ballroom dance community...

Where is a good place to live in this country where there is an abundance of ballroom dancing going on....lots of singles...great teachers which assures great dancers...etc.

I moved here to live near my son and I'm not finding the dancing scene that I crave. I want to move but I don't know where....Anybody know of a good place?
Thanks!

Thanks, Darlyn,

I used to live in the Western MA/Albany, NY area...there is a large USABDA presence there. I always wanted to go dancing in NYC but never made it. Gosh, I really miss dancing the hustle...Thanks for your offer.

I love my hometown of Sarasota Fl.
There are several dance studios here but the best is Sara Dance 5000 Fruitville Road
Where else can you find a place where you can dance SEVEN nights a week for just seven dollars per night (includes a 1 hour group lesson and a party)?
There are great teachers here who work indepently-no contracts.
It is very friendly here.We all dance with each other.
Good clubs in town,too.
On the downside; my town is growing too fast, loosing it's charm, and becoming very expensive.

Are there any youth male international style dancers in Sarasota?

Your solution is to move north of the boarder if you don't mind the cold. Toronto has great dancing for all styles, friendly people, lessons at half the price of Florida. Not only can you dance seven days a week but seven nights and days a week. We love Americans . I welcome you all,but please not all at once? John

I appreciate all of your responses. John, I'd like to speak with you more about Toronto....my ancestors are from Canada and I'm of french descent. Maybe I should seriously consider Toronto - I've lived practically my whole life in MA, so I'm used to the cold weather.

Right now I'm in Southern TX...the weather is warm and the dance scene is also lukewarm where I am. It doesn't seem to be the right place for me - I've been here over 2 years and haven't been able to set down any roots. It feels like a stepping stone - not a place I would stay. Thank you for your warm welcome.

My daughter lives in Paris France and I visit Paris often. I would love to find a ballroom dance studio to take lessons or attend studio dances.. can't find anything anywhere on the web, perhaps I'm looking in all the wrong places!

Anyone out there who can direct me to someplace in Paris? I will be there from January 3 - Feb 14th, location near the Eiffel Tower. I speak a little french, not a lot, but will try anything!

Merci beaucoup!

Barbara
