I'm a swing dancer..the followr and a teen girl. I have a question for mostly the leaders of swing : what is the most amount of weight you guys canb handle if you want to "throw" a girl in the air or do a kewl ending that involves you picking up the girl?

you mean the weight of the girl we're dancing with? At 5'7, 155 lbs, I'm not very big, so even if the girl was like 90 lbs, I probably still would not do something like pick her up and flip her. Depends on the guy I guess. I think there's plenty of other cool stuff in swing you can do without risking hurting someone.

I'm 5'6" and weigh 175lb. I could probably lift any lady unless she weights like 200lb.

The girl has to be athletic enough to give herself momentum that carries her up. A lot of those aerials are not the leader lifting the follower, it's both of them doing it together.

Think of gymnastics and the height they can get without anyone lifting them up. True, they convert forward momentum into vertical, but still, the idea applies.

If you mean "Aerials" and not "trows" (that's in judo, not swing) then weight has nothing to do with it. Timing and technique are important (if you are doing any aerial worth doing). Granted a lighter girl is easier, but again, it shouldn't matter. And be sure you are learning aerials that you do in Lindy Hop, where connection and technique are important so no one gets hurt.

I'm on a competitive lindy hop swing troupe, and we have a girl who is 6 ft tall and about 180 lbs, and she can do several aerials with a guy that weight about 120, and is 5 feet tall, so again weight doesn't matter.

Also, we know a couple of "aerial squads" as we call them that don't do any true dancing, just aerials. Don't fall into this group of people as you are missing out on the best part of swing (the non-aerial part), and most of these groups don't have formal training on how to do aerials, and people are hurt all the time.

I agree with Jerry and our fair Captain.
Im only a little tacker but if you get a girl who knows what she's doing it's not difficult to get the needed momentum and support.
