I know this is quite early.. I am considering doing the USABDA National in San Jose. Can anyone from the area tell me if it is 'do-able" to stay in SF and travel to San Jose?

My only other choice would be Palm Beach, which looks like quite a hike.
(trying to schedule a timeshare for the week of the comp)

Also, we have only danced regionals. Is there a large difference between a regional and a national?

Thanks

Hi Janet!

It is approximately a 1 hour drive from San Francisco to San Jose. It is approximately a 7 hour drive from San Jose to Palm Springs.

The host hotel for the competition is very reasonable. It is a nearly-new Marriott, right across the street from the Civic Auditorium, and only costs $89 + tax per night.

Nationals is very large. It is a three-day competition, with events running from about 10 in the morning to 11:30 or so at night every day. I'm currently working on the web site for Nationals and will be putting up a preliminary schedule with ticketing information in about another week.
