Staying fit (cross-training)

From everybody's experience, does it benefit to have additional exercise program together with the actual dancing (lessons and solo practice) or dancing is enough? Like going to gym or doing another kind of sport.
I personally found some yoga balance poses very helpful and practice them regularly together with my dance routines.

For me, dancing is not enough. I also take ballet, Pilates, Feldenkrais, and do cardio at the gym.

This sort of discussion has been on before.
You need gym work (or running)for aerobic fitness, some flexibility work, and, of course, specific dance fitness, which only comes from dancing.
Other things are all helpful.
