Hi, I've been trying to do the splits for dance by stretching everyday and I'm wondering if anybody has any advice for me =) I'm 15 years old and I also want to know if it's too late for me to learn to do the splits because I heard you had to be young.. =\

hi j,
your age is not an issue when it comes to splits.your body is able to stretch itself at every age(even though its easier when your young). A couple of things though, that will help you are:1)stretch twice a day, not only once 2)dont force it, take it slow and easy and let the muscles relax, then continue 3)remember, you can do it=)
btw, i take it you mean side splits.

I'm over 40 and and just learning them, and can get almost all the way down on both sides. My Pilates teacher is in her late 50's and still does them on both sides.

One thing: warm up before you stretch. The idea is to do something like jump rope or run in place or whatever to get your body temperature to rise to warm up your muscles so they can stretch better. Just a few minutes is all it will take.
