Can anyone tell help me?
I need to know what dances are typically danced in Regional and National Smooth at the silver level. Is it a 2 dance, three dance, and what are the dances.

Will it vary from comp to comp, or is it a standard?

Thanks.

If you can hold on about 48 hours, I'll have the entire Nationals schedule with dances up on the host chapter's web site at usabda-norcal.org

If you can't wait that long, look on the national web site at usabada.org and see what was danced last year. It does not change from year to year.

Okay, I checked on this for you since I was working on the web pages (they aren't quite ready yet).

Silver Smooth for the 2006 Nationals is Waltz, Tango, and Foxtrot. It should be the same for your Regionals -- you'd have have to check with them to be sure, though, because there have been wonky things in the past where Regionals organizers haven't done things exactly according to how they were supposed to do them....

It's a recommendataion, or a minimum, not a hard and fast rule what the event should be. So for example if the recommendation is WTF, an organizer, even for regionals, is probably free to hold WQ and TF.

Thanks Laura!
Your answer helps us to determine our practice schedule. Our concern was that the VW would be in the grouping, this dance being the most difficult if not impossible for us.

I have had people tell us that they find the VW easier in smooth than International. We just find the timing and removing the rise and fall difficult no matter what.
