Everybody seems to be on this site Standard. Lets have a Latin question.Jive Which is the best way to count Jive International Style. Do we count beats. Or do we count steps once we know what the beat values of each step is. For instance counting steps seems to make more sense being that we have 4 beats to a bar with the accent on 2 and 4. Fallaway Rock or Link 12
Chasse Right 345.Chasse Left. 678
Or will we count 12 3&4 5&6. I've also heard the count as 12 3&4 3&4 as well as Q Q. Q & Q. Q & Q. Maybe they are all correct as long as we accent the correct beats. Micheal Wentink "Out of Africa". gives the Jive an eight count.Everything is in eights.
