For a mature adult being COOL has nothing to do with dancing. If you enjoy dancing keep it up,it will give you a liftime of pleasure. Good Luck

If it was that uncool, would there be a tv show like dancing with the stars?? I teach dance to all ages I currently have students as young as 13 and up to 80. Two of my students are are competing in a High School talent show. I hope this helps in some way.

A beautiful woman is WILLINGLY in YOUR arms.
(How often does this happen anywhere else?)
She is enjoying the dance with YOU.
(You DO realize women LOVE to dance, don't you?)
She is finding out YOU are really good at this.

She smiles broadly at you...

And you think this might not be cool...

HMMM...

Sorry I can't resist this...

The only people who think dancing is not "cool" are the people who secretly want to dance--so THEY can be cool. But because they can't, won't, or don't, well, get the picture?

My 13 year old son wanted to dance, but thought his friends would make fun of him and he was embarrassed. After a few Jr. classes he realized how many women (girls) love men (boys) that can dance. He is constantly being called by all them now his calender is pretty booked. lol After a few friends realized the "benefits" of dancing, they've picked it up as well. As I said, he's only 13... just imagine where his future is headed and the confidence that will go along with it. Dancing definately improved his "cool" status and he loves every minute of it.

I'm Canadian.

As a young adult I played a lot of hockey in the beer leagues.

I spent a lot of time in penalty box for fighting (most I lost).

Now I teach ballroom.

How Cool is that!

Operabob. My turn to Ballroom Dancing came from moving to music on a pair of ice skates. At the rink there was always music playing. I found this a short hop to dancing. Where i live it was mostly young people who attended dance classes. I cannot remember anybody having anything derogatory to say about learning dancing or dancers. Just about everybody could manage a Waltz or Quickstep of some sort.
