I lost about 4 cm from my 160cm hight. Agter 2 more years practicing ballroom dance , I cm getting back . I am still fit on 106cm lenth pants. Maybe it bebefits from my stronger and straching core muscles and ligaments. Besides abnormal attitute/ microfracture of vertebrae/ bended legs, degenerative disks due to aging and insufficient water intake also a risk factor and should be alerted.
To have more water and walking to protect your disks in good shape and function. Enjoy your life.

I would VERY strongly recommend taking Glucosamine/chondroitin mixture. At least 1200mg Glucosamine per day. Genuine research has shown that this stuff really works (as far as i know the research was done on knee joints, but i'm sure it would benefit any sort of joint capsule tissue).
It's readily available on the internet. It's generally considered that anyone over the age of 50 should be taking this stuff. It's naturally produced in the body (the glucosamine, anyway) but in lesser quantities as we grow older.
By the way, for vegetarians, the chondroitin is invariably from shellfish.
MSM is another compound which, anecdotally, is good for joints. A company called "Zipvit" (zipvit.com)is the one i always use. Hope this isn't an illegal advert!
