If you take up New Vogue or Latin we have some excellent teachers including former seventh in the world Joanne Buric for Latin. On the Gold Coast about 6o miles south lives former winner of every title in Modern Anthony Hurly. New Vogue at the competition level has a lot going for it. There is much shaping of the body and arms for the man as well as the lady. In some parts they have to be a mirror of each other. Also there are a mass of dancers here,most of them the walk around kind. Not at all interested in medals or competitions. To enjoy yourself there you have no option but to learn New Vogue and English Sequence Dancing. You will think of New Vogue as Sequence Dancing. I am amazed how many dances most of them know. At a guess most would be able to do a hundred or more off the top of there head. Having said that there are many studios for serious dancing and for medals and competition dancing. Just one more question, are there any competitions in australia for dancers to compete as a hobby. I compete in the Supadance league over here which is considered to be at a lower level than the amature competitions and is really just more relaxed and fun????
