Don't forget the false eyelashes--they are a necessity. The bigger the better... Even the longest, most obnoxious looking eyelashes look downplayed when viewed in an audience or in pictures.
Black liquid eyeliner works better than pencil. Apply to both upper and lower lids.
Really take time to examine your face. Add highlight where you wish, to emphasize your features (i.e., if you have a wide nose, apply highlighter down the center to "raise" it)
Apply foundation to the neck as well as the face. You may get the mask effect from the lights and in pictures, particularly if you're pale and you apply a bronzer shade.
Apply lipliner to the whole lip so if your lipstick rubs off between heats you still have color on them. Apply one coat of lipstick over the liner, put face powder over it, and apply another coat of lipstick. This will help it last longer.
Also, don't forget the effect of a good powder glitter... apply it to the brow bones under the brow, blending down and out, and also to the cheekbones, under the eyes, above the blush.
Another thing about blush, do not mindlessly apply it to the apples of your cheeks. That is not the objective. Use some common sense here, where your cheek bones naturally create a shadow is where the blush should be applied, in the hollow created in between your jaw and cheekbones.
