turns

Hi there!
I've been dancing for about 7 months now, and my biggest problem is turns. In latin dancing we do lots of them, and the hardest thing for me is to do a double turn correctly... I usually fall off balance or move from my original position. I've learned a few exercises that I practice regularly that are supposed to help you get better at this and work on spotting as well, but it just seems that I can't get better! If I practice with a partner, usually 1 double turn comes out good after 25 of them! So does anyone have any suggestions how I can improve? How long can it take for turns to become second nature and be perfect?
Thanks,
Mraz
