How long can you drone on about walking? Who cares how many points of balance there are on a forward walk in foxtrot? Sure , you may opine that it is necessary to understand this or that but sheesh! Go dance and dont worry if you will fall over because you are not balanced. Owendancer

Anonymous. How nice of you. Even your coach I am sure after several attempts will tell you "Just do it". So I will sub for that person. "Anonymous, just do it". Now can we move on to bigger and better things?. Owendancer

How can you "just do it" when you don't know what it is?

This whole thread has been about the misconceptions about what it is that is to be done. Ignoring the issue won't clear it up.

Anon: My whole point here is how long do you discuss and how long do you explain the concept of balance and why/how it is important before you have to be turned loose to find the answer or concept for yourself?. At some point you have to just "get going" or get run over by those that are doing. Owendancer

It seems that a future premium membership could apply to all these posts. An attached video clip and insructional manual description to the posts to help understand what is being discussed. Understanding written dance technique descriptions is hard enough when they are written and edited by high level writer pros.

You probably should not be paying attention to this thread unless you are an active dancer practicing regularly.

On the other hand, you probably should not be practicing regularly as an active dancer unless you are also trying to get to the bottom of the kinds of 'how should it be done' disagreements that illustrate this thread. Otherwise you risk spending decades doing something ultimately impractical, as so many have.

Anon: Oh thank you. I'll just go back to my armchair and have another sip of tea and let you ramble on and disagree until you are blue in the face. Then I will get up and walk (without losing my balance) over to the telly and switch channels to another episode of cartoons. Now can we move on?
