Upper torso exercises

Hi!
Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for exercises to improve rib-cage and upper body movement? I've been struggling with my upper body movements in the latin dances, especially salsa... Partners think I look "stiff". I'm female by the way.
Thanks!

Fire. It doesn't matter boy or girl. Find a belt with a big buckle. Stand in front of a mirror and move your hips either side to side, without moving your upper body, or if you can, take your hips through the infinity sign, if you like to call it a figure eight that will do. Keep an eye on that buckle and go for a complete isolation of the hips from the top. Have you noticed that on an instruction DVD both use a Belt. I have in mind Slavik's Inovation Cha Cha. Remember . If you use your upper body and the hips at the same time you will destroy the hip movement.Just one more thing. If you can raise either toe to a press line and do the above you will be well on your was. Try Rumba music first. Good Luck
