Samba Bounce

Is the Samba Bounce an illusion. In other words do we think we see something that isn't there. If my head is touching a ceiling. as I bend my knees I raise my heels. As I straighten my knees I lower my heels. At no time does my head try to go through the ceiling. It stays roughly at the same height. The Samba bounce is not bobbing up and down. Interesting.

Truthfully most dancers give the illusion of the bounce by making there whole body go up and down. It really shouldn't be the whole body bouncing that "Samba Bounce" movement is really through your pelvis which is the true samba bounce your head really should never move it should be level and your pelivis moving up and down into moves is what gives the samba that "Bounce" your looking for!!

Danzerpassion. I think what has taken that horrible popping up and down out, is the changes made to the Basic action. On a Reverse Basic it used to be on the second step Part Weight which now reads No Weight. Then Minimal weight to RF and replace weight to LF.This has also removed that sideways movement , which was never right but did encourage a side movement of the hips which as we all know is a forward to back ( body tick ). Samba the hardest of all the dances to do correctly.
