Has anyone ever had clients that were a pain in the neck? Complaining and whining even if I go on vacation and not understanding why. Why do clients think because they pay you they think they can run your life? I have this client who calls my voice mail and $%&*@!es all the time because I have to do things with other clients or other obilgations I have. The client does take alot of lessons but it is driving me crazy with the whining and bitchin. How do I talk to this person ina clever and kind way because I am about to blow up.

Teacher. My teacher in your situation would very quickly show them the door. I doubt if your pupil will alter so why carry on. It's a sorry situation, but you are bound to meet one every now and again. You were possibly to easy in the beginning and should have laid some ground rules. I doubt that you will make the same mistake twice.

Some people complain and whine no matter what. Foretunately they are a small percent of the population. There is a saying that applies to many jobs, including teaching dancing. Best part of the job is working with people, worst part of the job is working with people. Whinners are a major reason the second part is true. I try to focus on the people in the first category and try to forget about what the others do.
