Mambo?

Can I get some help on how far of a step I should be using in basic international? Or is Mambo American style? I believe I'm starting international style and when I do the shift should my foot be flat when I make the basic step forward or back, should I have the foot flat when I start the shift or should the heel be up. Being up makes the shift faster as this style has a really quick rythem.

Mambo is an American rhythm dance, as far as dancesport is concerned. It's also a social dance from the Caribbean.

It's a little hard to understand what you are asking. If you go to the home page and, in the center of the page, click on Mambo, you can see video clips of the basic steps. They show the footwork pretty clearly. Maybe that will help answer your question.
