Hi Everyone. I am on the Board of Directors of a USA Dance Chapter. At the last dance we received many complaints from the "older social dancers" regarding the tempo of the waltzes and rumbas. Many of the songs were from dancesport cd's with strict timing, but they said it was like a contest to see who could stand on one leg the longest. What I need to know is what tempo music would make them happy. Most Waltzes are about the same and the majority of Rumbas I've heard are fairly slow. Could someone help me out with this and give me a BPM count for music that would make these dancers happy. Thanks for your help.

wannab10dancer,

While you might get useful info from any DJs that might be perusing the forums, you may just try experimenting, or asking the dancers for an example of a song, with a speed they like.
