Anybody read any of the messages with the same header on the dancescape website ?

Apparently it is not that unusual to change dance instructors on a regular basis.....

My relationships ended when (1) the studio closed and (2) I quit taking lessons because of the expense and my instructor was leaving the studio. I would take lessons again but it's so expensive. But I did form an emotional bond with both gentlemen. In fact, I still think of them.

It does happen. Dance teachers seem to be even more difficult to break up with than hair stylists. It is an emotional bond that we form with our teachers...no matter how much we want to object to that.

It's difficult because we share the same space, share an emotional sport, share a learning experience. If you are competitive there is even more sharing there btoh mentally and physically.

All of this adds up to a very difficult professional relationship to sever. I have heard of few nice endings. Some instructors are better at handling this than others, that seems to be the main difference.
