Latin vs. American

Hi! I'm about to compete in American Rythmn Cha and rumba, and I've been doing International for a while, so I wanted to know what things I need to keep in mind when doing american. I know legs striaght for latin...but what else can I keep in mind when doing American cha and rumba? especially with cha, since there are a lot of similiarities. Obviously, in American Rumba, you do it in a box...but what else? I'm a new dancer so I have not fully understand all the differences. It's confusing!

Which ever style of Latin whether it be the Internation Style or Street Latin, Salsa for instance. To be able to keep the top of your body still and isolate your hips from your top. In the International Style this is a must. Also your feet, try after a step forewards in the International style Rumba, freeze both the front and the back foot for a fraction before continuing into a neutral position Don't let your foot position move around. It can make your dancing look vey weak.Good Luck
