I have seen messages here about brushing "properly" so would like to know exactly what that entails. I realize there will be several answers from different perspectives and that is ok with me I usually just take my shoes outside and brush the soles with my wire brush both horizontally and vertically, trying to keep it quite even but focusing on getting out any deep bits of grit. We have a laminate floor at home and don't want to scratch it up when we dance. At some point I may have shoes that are strictly for home use but not yet!
