You make great points, but this sort of experience is nessecary. I myself started ballroom dancing when I was 8 years old in Russia, and I know that to teach children at the international ballroom dancing level, not at the social level, it is necessary that the teacher has had similar type of training that he or she would be providing. The teacher must have experience in being taught as a child, experience in competing as a child, and experience in teaching children.
I came here to Ottawa when I was 12 years old, and up until I was old enough to move to the United States where this type of training was available, my family had no choice but to drive me every week to Montreal, as the training that you are talking about was unfortunately not the right one.
Now, I moved back to Ottawa and opened this studio because there are a lot of children in this city that want to dance and a lot of parents that want their children to dance. I want to do everything possible to provide these children with the best possible training, even if it means bringing an instructor from another country.
Thank you for the nice words and good luck.
