some people say that samba bounce is moving your pelvis up and down, well i think that it's moving your pelvis forward and bakward, without going up and down, the head must always be stable. am i right?

Samba Bounce. The name gives the wrong impression for a start. Your question is about body tick.
Body Tick. Forwards and Backward Movement a tilting of the pelvis
The Samba Bounce. If your head is touching a ceiling it will not go through the ceiling.
Samba. The hardest dance of all to do. Don't try to teach yourself, it wont work.Good Luck.

I agree with quickstep, you can't teacher yourself, your going to need some help with the movement, but try holding your finger in your belly button (at home other wise you'll look weird dancing with your finger in your botton) and (forget the pelvis stuff) move your hips and stomach area, a bit like a belly dancer.

Try it, but also ask your teacher how to do it they may be able to explain and show you how easier than we can on a message board.

Good luck!

Sami. It is refreshing to have some Latin to discuss here. I wonder if you have been told that on a Volta going to the left. There is a place behind the right knee which the left knee can fit into perfectly. I dont know if i can explain this . To get the body tick forwards to backwards from that position is much easier than a loose position. Slides into would be a better word than fit.You know all the rest about the back heel being high off the floor and all that. Good luck

Anna,

I do know about Voltas- I was just trying to explain to "samba" an easier way of dancing the movement in the samba.

Thankyou anyway!
