Do you mean Alton Ellis' "I Don't Want to Know"? (Sorry I don't open links to sites I don't know, so I checked itunes and this was the only song I could find).

I only heard a brief clip but to my ear it sounded like a fast cha cha. I would find it too fast for rumba.

What dance is this music for?

This is dance break music (take a break and just listen). It really doesn't fit any dance I'm familiar with. The song is full of rhythm and speed changes as it progresses. At one point the speed is down to about 90 bpm. Sometimes it is straight rhythm and at other times it adds lots of syncopations, and the pattern for those syncopations changes at different places in the song. For a short period of time the rhythm shifts to something sounding a little like samba, then that beat disappears. The song is also about 7 minutes long. I will be sitting this one out if they play it.

Hi estrose
i only listened to the first 2 minutes or so. The tempo during that time at least was a steady 84-88 beats-per-minute, though there is some syncopation. You could dance a rumba to it i would have thought. Even a foxtrot(though it wouldn't have a good foxtrot 'feel') I don't think it's samba or cha-cha music.
