Juice23,
I did visit the website of Tony Meredith's studio. Do you know anyone who has taken lessons there?
I made my first post for information on other studios, after reading many negative posts about Arthur Murray. We took our first set of lessons at the studio closest to our house, but when they were done, opted to try a different AM studio mostly because our instructor had also changed to this studio.
Our experience so far has been good and bad. Our instructor was knowlegdable and VERY enthusiastic about dancing. (we had to re-schedule a lesson with him one night because he was auditioning) Our problem was more with the studio manager. It was really not pleasant and we were not the only people to have had a problem. infact other student is has also changed studios. So far this AM "feels" different. The next couple of weeks will tell us if we have made a better choice, but I do want to be ready with options of other Studios that people have liked. Word of mouth is the best advertisement.
While we understand that dance instruction is a business, we want to be at a studio that teaches what we want, when we want it and when we are ready for it. If that happens and we as customers are accommodated and respected; we will continue to sign up for more lessons. It seems very commonsense to me.
So again thank you for the information.
