I'm a teenager, and have been dancing ballroom for a year. I was wondering what websites are good for purchasing ballroom skirts that aren't expensive. I tend to find a lot of dance clothes websites that contain skirts for ballet, tap, or lyrical dancing. Any advice would be very helpfull. thanks

Do you mean skirts for practice, or for performances or competitions?

more for practice. if you have websites for performance/competition skirts too... that would be great.

There are a ton of them! A good place to start is with the Dance Directory on this site. Select that, then Vendors and you'll see different categories including dancewear.

A skirt doesn't have to be specifically made for dancing to be good to dance in. For practice/social dancing purposes, an A-line skirt is good because it will float away from the body and allows you to take full size steps. (A tight skirt that restricts movement is bad.) I tend to go for knee-length skirts- they're long enough to move in without modesty problems but short enough to show off my calves.

If you are going to compete or do tricks like lifts and dips, you might want a dance skirt with a built-in panty. However, I don't do tricks (well, maybe an occasional dip) and I buy my skirts and dresses at regular clothing stores.

Visit www.fotop.net/rainbowrainbow

They offer affordable options. I know how hard it is to be a dancer on a budget!!

Also, if you know anyone that sews, find a pattern you like and try to have skirts made.
