Burnout

Well, it's time to admit it. After dancing continuously for the past eight years I think I'm actually beginning to experience burnout and am considering cutting back, but certainly not taking time away.

I think one of the factors is dancing at the same place all the time; there is not much variety here as far as other studios and venues go.

What I'm curious to know is how others who may have been in the same situation have delt with this.

I personally love to do hip hop classes, or tap...just for fun. They challenge my body's muscle memory and force me to think outside my ballroom box

Do you travel to competitions?? This can be a great pick me up, if you don't do it already. It provides a goal, and usually a challenge (achieving the level you want etc.) Besides, it's fun!

I am interested to see what everyone puts here...it can get _routine_ sometimes ;(

Actually KC I am considering going to Argentine Tango classes; the more I think about it though the more I believe it's a case of where I'm going rather then what I'm doing there. I was at a USABDA dance last night and a big band dance just awhile ago which are given infrequently here and had a wonderful time.

In two weeks I'll travel to the Seattle area for the third year in a row and will be taking in the great dancing there.
