If there is a ballroom dance event, there is a restroom. At least one!!
Dancers change in public because they want. If you're nude in public and somebody takes your picture and post on the Internet, it's legal!
You're in public. If Britney Spears' p.... is published and it's legal why yours won't.
Just use the restroom!

It's pretty hard to change into a standard dress in a restroom stall without getting your floats in the toilet!

not to mention the mess it makes with fake tan, hairspray and toilet paper everwhere

why competitors can't show some consideration for everyone else who may use the restrooms is beyond me.

they have hotel rooms to change in don't they?!

They don't necessarily have hotel rooms to change in. Some people may live locally and just come for the day. They may be staying at another hotel (to save money, because they prefer it, or the comp hotel is full). They may need to change too quickly to get to their room and back in time (it can be a long walk to the ballroom in some hotels).

dancers changing in the restroom(s) is disgusting, you go in there to find toilet roll, hairspray and fake tan all over the washbasins.

learn to change in your hotel if you're that worried about being revealed to the world.

Posting revealing pictures of underage dancers is not illegal? Really!

How could they get changed at hotels? Are they going to walk their in their dancing costume? They'd need to get changed to get there. Sort of defeats the purpose.
I'm starting competitions soon and I would be absolutely horrified if someone started taking photos of me half dressed! I'm not the type to wear anything revealing so there would be a HUGE difference from what I would be wearing on the dance floor and my underwear!
I hope they do start providing changing facilities.
