Run around movement

My dance partner is taking lessons from
a different studio than I am. I would like to mention the studio, but I know I shouldn't. Where is this on a syllabus?

He says he is learning the run around that can be done in any dance (not in time to the music) and as many times as the man wants. I don't like it.
When he tried it with me in the foxtrot, I could do it for 2 or three times but then I felt I was ready to come out. He has not done it yet in the waltz with me. Maybe it will feel better.

Would someone explain to me really what this is and the woman's part, footwork, coming out lead, etc. He just tells me to follow.
Needing help in getting the feel of this so I don't get perturbed in doing something that doesn't seem like dancing.

Thanks, I need some feedback on this.

I am sorry but that is what he calls it. It can be in Waltz, Foxtrot any dance.

He is taking Bronze level II and I am wondering if it is Run and Box.

I did it in swing with one of the instructors and we just ran around each other in a tight circle and finally came out on the rock step.
Swing worked OK.

Does that help. I will try to get more info.
