West Coast Swing

some teachers count west cost swing as
step1, step2 triple3&4, triple5&6
but other teachers count as
step1, step2, toe touch3, step4, triple 5&6.

is this just variations? or
both acceptable or what???

They are just two different versions of the basic. The second one has a movement called the "coaster step" for the ladies. The first is taught often to beginners because it is a little bit more regular and symetrical than the second. I personally like the second one better, and I think that anyone above a beginner dancer should learn it.
