Happy Together

Hi,

I am getting married in July, and my fiance and I have started dance lessons so we don't just have to shuffle for 3 minutes.

We would like to dance to 'Happy together' by Jason Donovan, but aren't sure which dance actually goes with this song. We are a bit embarressed about talking to our teacher because we are having group lessons, and don't really want to say in front of everyone.

Thanks

If I have the song right in my head I would say it would be a fox trot. I dont believe it has the 1,2,3 timing of the waltz. Fox trot or one of its variants (slow fox trot, fast quick step) can be danced to just about any music that has the 1,2,3,4 timing (4 beats per measure 4/4 - which is most music).
Swing is similar in that it can be dances to just about any 4/4 music (single swing, triple, west coast).

Dont be embarrassed to ask these questions in class, it takes a while to be able to quickly pick out the beat in all the different songs that get played.
