Why the names of the syllabus steps on the american style syllabus DVDs (from ballroomdancers.com) were chosen completely different from USISTD names? Is there a dictionary of some sort?

When someone " forms " a new Soc. they very often try to re invent the " wheel ".
Its supposed to be a bigger and better mousetrap.

The obvious comparisons in the States are A/M and F/A-- now add in all the other sundry Soc.
