MB, considering you didn't list a specific location, I would say just look in your local phone book. You could possibly even google (dance schools in "statename"). Working for 2 dance studios in my life has taught me much about the quality of ballroom dancing, and I believe its all about the happiness of the studios. Most studios offer a free lesson or some special as an incentive to get you into the studio. You can take that as a great opportunity to go in and check things out. See there method of teaching. Ask as many questions as you can before you purchase more lessons. Be sure to talk to the other students in the studio and get their view of things. Don't just ask one student, ask as many as you can. Also, if there is a special dance you are looking to learn, research which studio is known for that dance. Don't be afraid to ask the teachers what their favorite dance is. The foxtrot was my favorite, and I loved teaching it the most. I paid most attention to that dance. It was kind of my specialty. Many students always asked me to dance that dance. Thats not to say that Foxtrot was the only dance I was good at. But anyway, to answer your original questions, you should either google it or look in the phone book. Then do some research from there. Happy hunting!
