The style is irrelevant ,,, ALL basics ( Intern.. Sq or bolero ) are designed over 2 bars in qqs rhythm .

So Once would be the answer to your Q .

6 steps (qqs, qqs) are 2 bars, so you mean "once".
But at least in International Style there may be "off phrase" rhythm variations like "2+ 3 4-1" that lead to another number of steps (what may be caught by another figure with a rhytm variation.)
