Class Pre-Registration Methods

I just recently moved to the north Oregon coast and I want to start classes again. Up in Washington I taught with various rec centers and so I never had to worry about issues like pre-registration... down here though, it's another story.

I already have a studio that is happy to rent floor space to me over the summer (and have already offered me a contract to start teaching in the fall).

The issue I'm having though is that I cannot schedule classes and just count on people sticking to their word that they are going to sign up (one rec center I worked at up north did this and I constantly would only get half the numbers that were signed up which cut in my income by quite a bit).

The studio is unwilling (not that I blame them) to handle pre-registrations for me leaving me to figure out how to collect money from people before classes start so that I can have some assurance that I will have numbers in my class.

So, question for all independant instructors out there... do you have any suggestions for methods to collect pre-reg?

Thanks for any suggestions. Summer is always tough for me but this one is going to be extra tough.
