College Team Issue

I am on a college-affiliated ballroom dance team that regularly accepts members outside the university. Recently an older gentleman (mid-late 50s) started showing up to our lessons at the studio, where he began hitting on women half his age. Seeing that he is single and shows up without a partner, I suspect that he is "training" with us for purposes other than competition. He may be able to play off his advances as friendly gestures, but many of the girls are feeling uncomfortable around him. Ideally we would be able to exclude him from our dance team, but in the politest way possible. How do we go about doing this?

Since this post is fairly old, I am hoping that you have dealt with this situation. If not, I would highly recommend that you take him aside and tell him that his actions are making several people uncomfortable and that he needs to stop. Tell him that if he persists in flirting with the other students, you will be forced to ask him to leave and not return. Hopefully this should clear up the problem; however, if it doesn't be sure to act on your word. If that is a problem for you, have a coach or college staff member ask him to leave/escort him out if necessary.
