Hi to All,
In an earlier posting, I've noticed that reference is being made to the Double Natural Spin (DNS) This figure will no doubt be unfamiliar to lots of readers. If you are curious to this figure - which is now obsolete in the syllabus of most dance societies - then the following may be of interest to you.

This figure was a standardized variation in the International Dance Masters' Association (IDMA) It's full title was 'The Double Natural Spin Turn' It consists of: 2 steps for the man, followed by a Toe Pivot, whilst the lady danced 4 steps. The following is a brief description from the IDMA ballroom syllabus.
Man.
1. RF fwd O.P. diag to wall, turning to R. (HT) (1 beat)
2. LF to side, across the LOD, still turning to R. (T) (1 beat)
3. Close RF to LF, without weight, (Toe Pivot) (T (RF) then TH (LF)) (1 beat)
(End facing LOD, or DC)

Lady.
1. LF back, turning to R. (TH) (1 beat)
2. RF closes to LF, still turning, (dancing a Heel Turn) (HT) (1/2 beat)
3. LF fwd, still turning to R, preparing to step OP on partner's R side with the L shoulder leading. (T) (1/2 beat)
4. RF fwd in CBMP OP on partner's R side. (TH) (1 beat)

Rise and Fall. As Double Reverse Spin.
All exits start with the man OP on lady's R side.
